Abstract

This article describes the most important Eucharistic chalices and tabernacles in modern Granada, given the great importance of the Eucharist from the time of the assimilation of the Nazarí kingdom into Castile. This was principally due to the attempts of the authorities to bring over their Moslem subjects, to the true faith, which was further encouraged by the Council of Trent. From this time on the cult of the Holy Sacrament was prometed as a counterweight to Protestant reforms.
