Abstract

The St. Lawrence Monastery of the Escorial is not only an architectural jewel, but also contains a rich and varied series of works of art which are representative of the history of painting in Spain. We offer the study of a Nativity cycle and contextualize it among the other works found in the monastery, both those at present to be seen actually in the main building and those which are not.
