Abstract

A previously unpublished work by Juan de Sevilla, one of the followers of Alonso Cano is analysed, and this provides further evidence on the life and work of this artist of the Granada School, about whom we still know little. The painting, a representation of the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin, is at present in a prívate collection and is kept in the Royal Monastery of St. Jerome, Granada.
