Abstract

In this article a series of documents on the life of Juan de Sevilla, a Granada painter of the 2nd half of the 171h century are presented. Sevilla, together with Pedro Atanasio Bocanegra, was the most accomplished successor to Alonso Cano. We publish a series of documents which are important for knowledge of this artist: his first wedding certificate, the death certificate of his first wife, and the parish document certifying his second marriage. These offer valuable infonnation on Sevilla's life and work.
