Abstract

When we speak of images of women, we inevitably think of their presence in different artistic generes, especially in painting, sculpture and literature. However, in earlier times there existed a hierarchy within which the view of women depended fundamentally on the perception of the mate imagination. Nevertheless, in the dialectic of social relationships, people form a network of reciproca! images like those of a group of mirrors, and it is within this concept that we analyse the role played by women in the Real Academia de Bellas Artes in Granada.
