Abstract

ln this paper the work of the Granada artist Mariano Bertuchi is discussed, on the occasion of the 50'" anniversary of his death. Since his paintings have been studied in detail, we will concentrate 011 his work as a graphic designer, as this activity is less well-known. Bertuchi 's versatility, and the sheer quantity of works produced, together with their high quality, made an importan! contribution to graphic design in Spain in the first half of the 20'" century. His work is analysed by typology, designs for publishers, advertisements, symbols and logotypes.
