Abstract

Literature, the plastic arts and devotion are inextricably intertwined in Baroque art. In this article we aim to illustrate the importance of representations of visions taken from devotional texts in works of art. A particular case study is carried out: it is extremely rare and in apparent contradiction to the dictates of the Council of Trent.
