Abstract

In the field of domestic architecture in the 16'11 and 17'11 centuries there still rernain numerous unexplained aspects of typology, distribution and function of the living areas, use of materials and building techniques, etc. The present paper offers a contribution to the study of living space in the Modern Age, taking as its focus the use made of the water supply available, a function which has historically determined the urban life-style and the organization of rooms in town houses. The study forms part of an ongoing research project (l+D) 011 domestic architecture in Andalusia, directed by Dr. Rafael López Guzmán.
