Abstract

New digital technologies offer museum professionals new ways to bring information about their collections directly to their audiences. Despite this, the fact is that there is no effective correlation between analyzes relating to digital users and digital resources that we found online. This is even more evident when it comes to university art museums where the didactic and dissemination level entails greater responsibilities than other civil museum institutions. Faced with this reality, in this article we intend to illustrate the situation from the American university art museums in order to highlight those cases of good practices that, from a critical and particular perspective, manage to clarify some guidelines for the development of digital content appropriate to address a (cyber)public of polyhedral nature.
