Abstract

In 1955 Manuel Maldonado begins to work on the decoration of the entertainment room of the Spa in Lanjarón, Granada. From then on until 1973, the year in which he completes the mosaic for the arrivals hall at Granada airport, the painter produced a great deal of murals in churches, public buildings, business offices and private houses. In the following pages we will try to clarify the aesthetic clues to his original paintings, in an attempt to encourage renewed critical attention to this artist, who deserves it so much.
