Abstract

The iconography in sculpture of the Eighteenth century in Granada are strongly influenced by the sources of Alonso Cano. His style influence causes, since there are no longer emblematic artist in the Granadian School of sculpture, once the Mora’s family have left the canesco model is copied and multiplied everywhere. The safety and the popularity that provides this archetype allowed the survival of the prototype of the prebendary. Although it can be shown different models of the Immaculate Conception in the same period as the works of Duque Cornejo, Ruiz del Peral or Verdiguier, that complete the Immaculate iconographic model of this period in Granada.
