Abstract

The history of the seventeenth-century Grenadian painting starts with the studio of well known figures such as Alonso Cano, Pedro de Moya, Pedro Atanasio Bocanegra or Juan de Sevilla. We must add to this list the names of other painters that so far have been virtually unknown by historians and who also worked in the city in this time such as Diego de Ojeda, Diego Portillo, Antonio Flores or Dionisio Gabriel Vargas. They conform a significant group to be taken into account in the discourse of the Grenadian Baroque art.
