Abstract

The convergence between the artistic and the scientific/technical in art-based research (IBA) has always been accompanied by controversy. The article that is presented revolves around this debate and arises with the interest of advancing its understanding, delving into the axiological, ontological, epistemological and methodological bases of IBA. It begins by exposing the main paradigms and theoretical-philosophical frameworks that support IBA, to later reflect on the methodological bases of IBA and its validity and reliability criteria.
