Abstract

The ‘Hospital Real’ of Granada is one of the most important examples of Historical Heritage in the city. The building underwent significant changes from the 1960s under the direction of the architect restorer Francisco Prieto-Moreno and Pardo. This was one of his most extensive intervention and more complex projects. In this paper, I analyze it to open new perspectives on the history of this building. Furthermore, I study some restoration criteria in part dependent on the new use given to the Royal Hospital, which remain until today.
