Abstract

The present paper analyses this painting from the following points of view: a study of the creative processes implied; the way in which the painter uses the linen canvas in the Venetian tradition; the importance of the primer; the way in which the scene is organized; the way the planes are painted; the use of different kinds of brushstrokes, the shaping of the figures, the landscape, the use of colour and the identification of the products used in their make-up, and the use throughout of the effects of light.
