Abstract

This article studies the legacy of art works which Henriette Nigrin, wife of the artist Mariano Fortuny y Madrazo left to the Spanish State in 1952. Although a series of unforeseen circumstances prevented this legacy from being carried out in its entirety, various donations to different state organizations and institutions did take place, and these are discussed in the present paper.
