Abstract

In this paper we discuss the group sculpture representing the Apostles which Pedro Duque Cornejo made between 1713 and 1718 for the parish of Our Lady of Sorrows in Granada. The use of previously unpublished documents has enabled us to establish the history of this sculpture and cast new light on the presence of the Sevillian artist in Granada. Furthermore, we explore the connection between this group and the St. John of Let ran basilica in Rome.
