Abstract

In the present article the author analyzes 17th century engravings found in Granada which have as their theme the Virgen de la Antigua, a gothic sculpture of the Virgin which had been brought to Granada by the Catholic Kings and donated to the Cathedral. We describe and illustrate a previously unpublished copperplate of this icon engraved using burin stroke by Ana Heylan in 1651, and the results obtained in its engraving or printing 338 years later.
