La nueva "Carta del Restauro" 1987, límite y revisión de la experiencia restauradora del este siglo

Abstract

This brief article is not intended to provide an exhaustive study -even at a basic leve!- ofthis important document published in Italy en 1988, the Spanish version of which has been issued by the College of Architects in Málaga. Rather, we simply wish to draw attention to the existence of the document, to discuss its methodological significance for a serious study of the 90s and to emphasize its most outstanding aspects compared to those of earlier letters -Athens 1931, Venise 1864. Rome 1972. A enarlarging of the field of objects considered as part of the universal cultural heritage; the interest shown in architecturally important monuments; the positive re-evaluation of traditional techniques and materials as opposed to more modern ones; the permissiveness shown with regard to re-integration, especially in architecture; and the inclusion for the first time of literary works and archives in this Cultural Heritage.
