Sobre la cronología de la custodia donada por D. Eugenio Peñaranda a la Real Capilla de Granada

Abstract

This article on the "Chronology of the Monstrance donated by D. Eugenio Peñaranda to the Royal Chapel of Granada" is of considerable documentary importance, since it allows us to establish the definitive chronology of this work of art.
The piece, which we have studied in other papers (including one in this Journal nº 19: "Una custodia rococó en el Museo de la Capilla Real") is of particular importance owing to the way in which it was worked, and the value of the precious stones incoporated in it. We can date it definitively to 1763, and thus we conclude the controversies which this dating has aroused, since, as will be seen, sorne authors date this piece in the 16th century.
