Platería de Antequera

Abstract

The town of Antequera, in Malaga, can be considered a remarkable living album of our cultural heritage with its wel l-known prehistoric dolmen, its attractive examples of religious architecture which prolong the fervour typical of the Antequerano Barroque u p to the end of the 1 8th century, its alterpiece engraving and the famous paintings by Mohedano and Bocanegra. In this study we present catalogue of religious s i lverwork at present to be seen in the Municipal Museum with valuable works from the 16th and 19th centuries. We conclude with a brief inventory of craftsmen who created these works together with their respective marks.
