Abstract

Of the 19th of April 1986, Emilio García Gómez published an article in The ABC (Madrid) entitled "The srrange facade of Comares". This article provoked a long controversy over the original position of the facade, built to the order of Muhammad V in 1369. The present author, with ali due respect to other opinions, feels that the Comares facade is still in its original place, in the Gilded Room patio. He does not believe that it could formerly have been situated in the outer part of the southem pavillion of the Comares patio, and he argues for this, adducing archeological data and those obtained from the Alhambra Archives.
