Convento de la Encarnación: los libros de Facistol. La música en los conventos granadinos

Abstract

In the Convent of the Holy Incarnation severa! parchments have been found which were obviously to have been included in an incomplete lectern book. Their study allows us to follow the steps taken en the writing of these manuscripts.
It is true that it is difficult, owing to obvious reasons, to find works pri?r to the 16th century in convents in Granada; however, present trends in musicology tend towards the revaluation of the recent past, wich has traditionallybeen neglected.
By reason of their special conditions, the closure convents have preserved several work of art intact, and the music found in them offers a great number of documents belonging to the more o less recent past
