Abstract

In the present article, we propose a documentary and historical revaluation of the life and work of one of the most representative figures of the Renaissance in Granada. He and his work, which have been overshadowed by the impressive and wideranging career of his master, Diego de Siloée, can now be seen in perspective. Although his early work owes much to de Siloée, Maedas was to react positively and develop creatively, linking in with the manneristic tradition of the late Renaissance, and his most representative work is the facade of the Royal Chancellery Palace.
