Abstract

I recall the figure of Juan Bautista Moya, an Augustinian missionary in Nueva España, who was also noticeable because of his founding activity. He was the Prior of San Agustín Monastery in Mexico. Taking this fact as a basis I also present a historical and artistic study of the building of the aforementioned Monastery and its church as well as the ornamental richness it had :n its time.
