Abstract

In this article we examine the iconographic theme of the lion in the Palacio de los Leones through a study of various literary sources.
Poetic, sculpted and painted lions are found in a variety of sources, the most interesting in our view being those expressed in paintings, which reflect a theme freely expressed in medieval novels.
