Las exposiciones de Bellas Artes celebradas en Granada y la prensa local: el Centro Artístico (1885-1890)

Abstract

In a previous article we studied the significant exhibitions which took place in Granada during the 19th century, and examined the most important competitions held between 1 839 and 1 883. The present paper deals with a second stage of this cultural activity in the town. On the basis of a study of local press cuttings which have been preserved we analyze the Fine Arts Exhibitions organized by the Artistic Centre in Granada between the years 1885-1890. In ali, six exhibitions are described, and we provide data of exhibition conditions, catalogues of artists and works exhibited, critiques published in the local press and in general ali aspects of the organisation of these exhibitions.
