Abstract

The present short paper aims to give an account of three masterpieces, now lost, by Alcalá artists. The also help us to assess more precisely the creative activity of the authors of these works, especially that of the silversmith Francisco Téllez and the sculptor Alonso de Mena. In conclusion we reaffirm the view that the Notarial Archives of Granada, though severely damaged by the ferocious fire which destroyed a large part of it at the end of the last century. constitute a fundamental source of information for historical-artistic research in the area.
