Abstract

The creative activity of Mariano Fortuny and Madrazo (Granada, 1871 -Venice, 1949) covered a wide range: he worked as a scenographer, materials designer, painter, photographer and, significantly, as engraver. His engravings are of a high quality, and in the present study we discuss a series of images which appear in them, forming part of the feminine iconography of the artist. The are analysed from the point of view of the problem of misogony in the Fin de Siécle.
