Abstract

In 1801 the Duke of Pam1a, Don Fernando de Borbón, confened the title of Marquis of Nibbiano on the Spanish diplomat and intellectual José Nicolas de Azara, in recognition of the care and efficiency with which he had resolved the serious situation that had been brought about by French preponderance in the Italian States, and especially in the Duchy of Parma.
