Abstract

The aim ofthis article is a double one: firstly, to make known the fact that this altarpiece is the work ofthe Mora family, who constituted an important artistic entity in the world of Granada image-makers and whose production reached its zenith in the last third of the 17th and the first quarter of the 18th centuries. To date the work had been supposed to be the work of Juan de Rueda Alcantara, Grand Master of Town Works. Secondly, the article aims to present as complete a study as possible of this altarpiece, placing special emphasis, naturally, on its artistic quality, but also examining the various changes and additions which it underwent as it was moved from one church to another.
