Abstract

Several Catholic political cultures, which presented diverse conceptions of gender, different women functions and diverse participation of Catholic women coexisted in Franco=s dictatorship. Along this period, some voices stimulated a reformulation of the womanhood and a redefinition of the category of equality in the Church. The protagonists of this change left the speech of the difference and the complementarity for equality, and questioned in a radical way traditional models of gender, contributing to the transformation of Catholic political cultures.
