Abstract

This article is an approach to the life of Guillermina rojas, a woman of relevance to the recovery of the origins of Spanish working class feminism. The biographical reconstruction proved difficult, due to the fact that historical memory and sources have resisted registering the experience of women. After years of documentary compilation of a very diverse nature, we have made a relation of all these sources, in order to trace the years of political activism of our protagonist during the Revolutionary Sexenio. She was involved in the political culture of republicanism and internationalism, and her militancy was important to the emancipation of women. We also analysed the image forged from her example, and the reasons why she was forgotten by history.
