Abstract

In France, during the second half of the 20 th. Century, a group of female historians developed their universitarian studies and with their work and effort, guaranteed the women presence in posts of academic responsibility. The current article shows the proffesional career of four of the most important women of this group, which is closely related to their political and social militancy: Rolande Trempé, Madeleine Rebérioux, Annie Kriegel and Michelle Perrot. They promoted some of the big investigation areas: from the Labour History to the “histoire des femmes”, the cultural history, the comunism history and the interest for the penitentiary system.
