Abstract

In Spain, women were incorporated to the university studies in the last third of the XIXth
century. Some of the first women students obtained the Doctors' degree. In this article, we are
going to approach the two university students who defended their thesis as doctors in the Central
University after having obtained the Degree of Licentiate in Medicine, in October 1882. The
subject they chose, just then, was about the changes that had to be made in women's education.
