Abstract

The author analyses the text of Fray Hernando de Talavera “De cómo se ha de ordenar el
tiempo para que sea bien ejercido” (“How the time has to be arranged for it to be well
conducted”), dedicated to the countess of Benavente, his penitent. The work is connected with
the model of moralizing texts, plentiful at the end of the Middle Age, which plead persistently
for controlling the feminine verballity, directing the friendships and working devout and systematic
practices throught the day.
