Abstract

Abortion, infanticidy and exposition of children are an example of gender in Penal Law.
In Argentine, the Penal Code legitimated the sexual difference between women and men, and
considered maternity and honor very important for feminity. The law considered women
responsables of crimes related to reproduction. But the interpretation at trial shows us that the
control of procreation was accepted by society and judges.
