Abstract

In the villages of the subbéticas mountains the home of a wealthy family had a doublehouse in which lived with a clear hierarchy different classes. In these houses we find a variety of spaces, allowing a clear gender differentiation in the use of architecture. As documentary source take the writings of Juan Valera, which offer a coherent and rich in details description.
