Abstract

This article is a historical research on the way some women had to go - as far as the
interpretation of the Bible as a religious experience is concerned - when the Bible was still
used as a weapon against women in order to deny, them their rights or to maintain them in
low positions in the name of God.
Women can read the Bible without taking the feminist interpretation into account. The
article offers some strategies of interpretation which - making use of the help which is given
through feminism in different sciences - can help to discover the sense of liberation revealed
in the texts. The author chooses two examples to be applied: their protagonists are women
who were silence in the Bible.
