Abstract

These pages mean to rebuild Arendt's reflection about the relationship between war and politics, which she places in the very origin of politics. This relationship needs to be interpreted as a prerequisite of Arendt's definition of the politic, useful to stablish the polis space, as Homer narrates in the Illiad. However, in Homer's narration it helps to build the politic boundaries but it does not produce any foundation, something basic in order to complete the politic meaning. Because of that, after the destruction caused by Troya's war Arendt talks of the foundation of a new city that will stablish new relationships among the other cities: Rome.
