Abstract

This article describes from a historical perspective, the discursive construction of social representations related to family and places for women in Sociedad Rural Argentina’s conceptions (SRA). As one of the most long-standing and traditional Argentine rural corporations, the SRA represents, from its foundation in the middle of 19th century, the great landowners as well as it is considered the institutional expression of the national elite.

Through the critical analysis of the images and texts published in Anales, SRA's official journal, this study tries to reveal this particular corporate vision of women and their roles in families and society in Argentina from 1930 to 1955.
