Abstract

This paper will review part of the documentation cataloged in the “Fondo sobre la Sección Femenina en la Provincia de Sahara” in the Archivo General de la Administración. There is preserved the documentation collected by the institution between 1964 and 1975, period when was settled in the former Spanish province of Sahara. The Saharawi women definition will be revised to check how the subject was formulated as one in which was possible and a duty to act. The Falangist institution used this discourse in order to legitimize itself not only for the colony population but inside the Franquist regime.
