Abstract

This  article  presents  a retrospective  glance  on the publishing  adventure  of CLIO, Histoire, Femmes et societies, a European journal of women’s history with  a long trajectory. It examines the context in which it emerged in 1995, the professors who have directed it, the content of the published issues, its organization and institutional situation. It also reflects on the  current  knowledge  of the  history  of women  and  gender  in France.
