Statutes of the Journal

INTERNAL REGULATIONS OF teorema. International Journal of Philosophy

Preamble

teorema is an international journal of generalist philosophy, primarily covering the classical disciplines historically associated with analytic philosophy: epistemology and theory of knowledge, philosophy of language, logic and philosophy of logic, philosophy of mind, and philosophy and history of science. It was founded in 1971 by Manuel Garrido at the University of Valencia and was later directed by Luis Manuel Villanueva, affiliated with the universities of Murcia and Oviedo. Since 2025, teorema is part of the journal catalog of the University of Granada.

In this new phase, teorema seeks to expand its scope to areas of philosophy that were not previously prioritized, including moral and political philosophy, aesthetics and the theory of the arts, argumentation theory and informal logic, metaethics, metaphilosophy, metaphysics, and experimental philosophy. Additionally, the journal embraces the political turn, which involves addressing issues such as gender biases and, more broadly, biases affecting groups that have traditionally been overlooked. This new stage also advocates methodological pluralism.

The aim of teorema is to strengthen the exchange of ideas among the various currents of contemporary Western philosophy and to enhance the international visibility of philosophy conducted in Spanish, both from Spain and across Latin America.
