Resumen

The implement of the programme “1 to 1” (2010-2012) meant the rise of the technological resources in rural schools and required the teachers’ updating in order to assure the ICT’s integration. The intention of the article is to present an program of formation in economic literacy for students of pedagogy of secondary education. There are included the cases of two careers: Pedagogy in History, Geography and Civic Education and Pedagogy in History, Geography and Social Sciences. The above mentioned programs belong to two regional universities, both placed in the Region of The Araucanía, Chile. The approach is based on the analysis of the current curriculum of vocational training, in which the economic formation is a non-existent area. Specifically, it considers to strengthen the pedagogic work of sabers disciplinary to transform in sabers objects of education, in the area of economy. The results obtained so far relieve the valuation made by participants of the knowledge acquired in the program, highlighting the development of conceptual knowledge and teaching strategies that are useful for their future professional action. A relevant conclusion establishes the need for a longitudinal study to follow up the work done
