Keywords:
Woman, Arabic modernity, Nahda, PressAbstract
This article tries to provide us with a rough view about the birth of the debate around women´s social problems at the end of the 19 Century and the begining of the 20th, through an analysis of one of the most symbolic magazines of the Arab Modern age and pionering in this subject: al-Muqtataf. The detailed study of the magazine and some of the articles written by women, and published in it, offers us a wide view of the feminine intellectual rebirth within the new nationalistic reform movements, wich characterize the Arab Modern age.Downloads
