El primer qāḍī l-quḍāt de al-Andalus

This article takes as a basis an Arabian text inserted in the Tartib al-madarik wataqrib al-masalik li-ma'rifat a'lam madhab Malik, an Abu l-Fadl 'Iyad b. Musà b.'Iyad's work, the well known cadi of Ceuta in the 12th century. The text we refer to corresponds with the portrait this author made of the famous Cordovan judge, Abu l-'Abbas ibn Dakwan, the most prominent member of a family coming from Jaen. Over generations he was very linked to the power through the performance of high posts related to justice.Downloads
