Abstract
Deals with synonymy, polysemy and homonimy in Spanish and Arabic as grounded in the theory of the basic scheme of reference handed down by Arab legacy and the cognitive theory published in the USA in 1987. It is used the jargon for cognitive grammar to present the arguments, but in the future this theory will only be the basis for a holistic modern linguistics very different from the traditional USA linguistic theories referred to in the paper.
