The useless integration of the morisco knowers and officials of the kingdom of Granada (1570-1584): the Rami family of Guadix
Keywords:
XVIth century, Kingdom of Granada, Ejection, AssimilationAbstract
The social-economic, cultural and religious characteristics of the moorish workers who remained in the kingdom of Granada after the ejection in 1570, are analyzed through the example of Rami family, who remained in Guadix as potters until the ejection in 1584. The use of a wide variety of sources, mainly Church’s court acts, allows some conclusions about the recent controversy about the assimilation of the moorish people and their ejection from Spain.Downloads
