Peer Review Process
Peer review (double blind system)
All submitted articles will be sent to at least two external scientific referees. The referees will send their evaluation to the journal's Editorial Board via a peer review form.
Editorial process
1. When a manuscript is received an email will be sent to its author as acknowledgement of receipt.
2. The manuscript will be subjected to an initial review by a member of the Editorial Board to ensure that it meets the journal's submission requirements, which can be found in both the journal's online version and its printed form.
3. Once it has been confirmed that the manuscript meets the minimum requirements in terms of format and originality, it will be sent to the external scientific referees for review. The referees are asked to return their report within one month.
4. Once all reports have been received, the Editorial Board will meet and decide, in view of the reports, which papers are accepted for publication and which are not, and, in the case of acceptance, in which section they will appear.
5. The authors will be informed of the result immediately, along with any suggestions made by the referees to improve the paper.
6. The Secretary of the Editorial Board will send the authors of accepted papers a single proof, in PDF format, of the formatted article, which must be returned with the suggestions made (if any) within 15 days.
If certain modifications have been recommended to the author as a condition to being published, one of the members of the Editorial Board will ensure that these modifications have been made.
7. Once the proof has been corrected and returned by the authors, the paper will be published in the journal's online version and later in the print version.
The authors will be informed about the status of the manuscript by means of notifications and emails generated by the OJS throughout the editorial process.
Publication Frequency
As an annual journal, one single-volume issue is published every year.
Articles may be submitted for review all year long. However, the deadline for submission for current issues is as follows:
• Articles and Miscellaneous: May 31th.
• Book reviews, Bibliographical reviews, Necrology: September 30th.
Receipt of a manuscript does not imply a commitment to publish by the Journal.
Open Access Policy
This journal offers open access to its content at no charge, as a way to facilitate research and promote the exchange of global knowledge.
Miscelánea de Estudios Árabes y Hebraicos. Sección Árabe-Islam follows the recommendations set forth in Article 37 of the Spanish Law on Science, Technology and Innovation, regarding Open Access to Information:
- Authors whose contributions are accepted for publication in this journal will retain the non-exclusive right to use their contributions for academic, research and teaching purposes, including automated archiving and deposit in any type of open access repositories.
- Permission is given preferably to the published version of the scientific contributions (the publisher's post-print version) but, when that is not possible, the author's post-print version, following evaluation and acceptance, can be used. These versions will be available soon because the journal does not have an embargo period.
Cost of submitting and processing articles
This journal charges authors no fees for the submission or processing of papers.
Research funding
Where appropriate, articles should indicate in a footnote at the end of the title the funding(s) agency(ies) and the code(s) of the project(s) within the framework of which the research leading to the publication has been developed. The corresponding author in charge of submitting the article to the journal website must include this metadata at the time of the submit in the corresponding section.

In compliance with what is established in our ethics code and in order to guarantee the originality of the works, all articles received in our journal will be subjected to anti-plagiarism software before starting the peer review process. Submission will be rejected in case of detecting plagiarism practices or scientific fraud, either during preliminary review or during the editorial process.
